South Melbourne-based Architect and Interior Design Practice Meme has redesigned both the library room and chandelier room in the Scandinavian-inspired restaurant Wolf and I. The company wanted to keep some of the original pieces of the Victorian-styled rooms and worked closely with local artisans and furniture enthusiasts. In the space, the mid-century velvet armchairs are matched with french parchments floor lighting. The walls are painted in hues of turquoise and cobalt. The floors are hand carved with Elizabethan-revival collectibles and some of the furniture are black leather Hans Olsens pieces that gives each room a touch of old world charm. The tones of the entire space are inspired by the 70’s blue Italian Murano glass chandeliers that complete the rooms. Photographed by Tom Blachford.
